Jay McCall
Founder/Executive Director
Jay McCall founded Bridge of Grace as a true labor of love. In addition to his appreciation of the arts, he is a published author of children’s literature with a heart for inspiring young people and a deep desire to provide companionship to the senior community.
His vision for Bridge of Grace is to combine those two passions in building a bridge between our youth and seniors, using art, poetry and stories as a channel.
Jay had a successful career as a sales and marketing executive in the software industry before returning to school to study creative writing as well as the Bible. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in the Bible from Lancaster Bible College and, in 2009, published his first book, “Jeremiah’s Angel.”
His foray into children’s literature and the ensuing years spent speaking to kids, encouraging them and inspiring them to create art and stories was the beginning of a journey that would ultimately lead him to launch Bridge of Grace. His first experience with caring for seniors came when his mother was diagnosed with cancer.
Affectionately called “Mimi,” she was a driving force in his love for the arts and is the namesake for “Mimi’s Angels,” the volunteer group that provides companionship for Bridge of Grace. He became her primary care giver in the final years of her life and began providing companionship to other seniors battling with loneliness and cancer. It was the combination of those two passions – inspiring young people and caring for seniors – which began as a dream and became Bridge of Grace.
He is driven by a commitment to his faith, to fitness and nutrition and to honoring God by helping others. A lover of books, he is an avid reader and writer working on a manuscript which he hopes will one day be a novel.
